Today is Chris Miller’s (@codeshaman) birthday. Chris is a quiet icon in the podcasting community. He’s a killer developer (working for Mahalo.com), has an awesome blog called Unquiet Desperation, a wickedly funny podcast called The Secret Lair, and is a co-founder and code wizard for the excellent podcast fiction site, Podiobooks.com. There’s no nicer man more deserving of happy birthday wishes from The Stweet Team!

Hutch recently interviewed entrepreneur Jason Calacanis (@jasoncalacanis) for his “UltraCreatives” interview series. Warren Ellis (@warrenellis) is a dangerous individual. He writes comic books so compelling, you’re hard-pressed to put ‘em down. There are few writers who can deftly pack so much action and characterization into a single monthly comic. Today is the man’s birthday … and while the Brit will likely scoff at our affection (after all, he has a very irreverent persona), our goal is to warm his chilly heart just a smidge.

And so, your @ssignment: wish Mr. Warren Ellis a happy birthday. On Twitter, he is followed by legions, but follows few. We must raise our voices together to attract the comic book god’s attention!

In addition to encouraging companies to embrace these avenues, David also promotes Twitter as a way for companies to engage their customers. The irony: David hasn’t been much of a tweeter until recently, and his tweets don’t seem to be propelling much conversation in the tweetstream.

We’re going to change that, Stweet Teamers. Your @ssignment is two-fold: Follow David on Twitter to catch what he’s tweeting about. More important, send a goodwill tweet his way. Tell him we’re listening and cheering him on in his Twitter adventures. The dude has an amazing story: he’s a videographer, journalist and producer. His tweets hail from the White House, the campaign trail, overseas … you name it. But this is no crabby old-school journo, folks: Jim’s extremely active in the social media community, and has created a company that bridges the gap between the best of “old media” and what’s on the horizon here, on the ‘Net. (Like I said, here’s a guy who gets it.)

Here’s where you come in. Jim will soon embark on a trip to Africa. Stops include Tanzania, Rwanda, Liberia and Benin. There may be a stop in Rwanda. He’s stoked about the trip, since he hasn’t seen much of the continent. Let’s keep him amped up and excited by cheering him on.
